Janet Lowery

Dr. Lowery completed her internship at Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital. She practiced emergency medicine for 14 years at South Peninsula Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Palo Alto before becoming a partner in the Mid-Peninsula Animal Hospital™ in 1996.

Dr. Lowery earned her DVM at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois in 1981. She completed her internship at Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital and then practiced emergency medicine for 14 years at South Peninsula Veterinary Emergency Clinic (SPVEC) in Palo Alto where she earned the trust of many Mid-Peninsula Animal Hospital™ clients through her expertise and compassionate care in emergency situations.

She joined head nurse, Holly Bourne, RVT and administrator, Carol Schumacher, RVT in purchasing the Mid-Peninsula Animal Hospital™ from Drs. Bradford and Sondag in 1996. She maintains her status as a director of SPVEC, as well as a director position with Scout’s House, the rehabilitation center next door.

Dr. Lowery’s special interests are internal medicine, emergency and critical care medicine and physical rehabilitation. She partners with a physical therapist at Scout’s House to evaluate and treat animals who require physical rehabilitation. They have become respected leaders in this emerging collaborative care specialty. Outside the hospital, her hobbies include western saddle riding with her horse, and taking care of her cats.
